Favorable consideration is given to proposals that:
affect a fairly broad segment of the Town of Cary population
are relevant to overall community needs and available resources
are pilot programs that can clearly be used as a model
have reasonable prospects for future community support and move the community to a higher cultural awareness.
are Cary based organizations

Funds will not be used for:
programs outside of the Town of Cary's geographic area unless directly benefiting Cary citizens
political purposes
individuals
lobbying
proselytizing
organizations which have not been determined to be tax-exempt as described inSection 509(a)(1) and 170B(1)(a) of the Internal Revenue Code
 augmenting endowments
underwriting fund raising events
loans

Funds will normally not be used for:
annual fund campaigns
capital campaigns
organizations whose primary function is to allocate funds to other charitable organizations or projects
second, or multi-year funding
routine operating expenses
conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.
